 Tuppas Manufacturing ERP Software Overview

Manufacturing ERP Software Supported Databases and Operating Systems
Databases. Tuppas software is built using Microsoft SQL Server 2005. However, if necessary we can build your system around any ANSI-compliant SQL database, such as Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Microsoft Access, Informix, PostgreSQL, etc. We can also integrate with these databases, providing integration between Tuppas software systems and database systems that are already in place.
Operating Systems. Ours is thin-client software which runs within any web browser. Because of this, the client can run on any Microsoft Windows operating system having Internet Explorer 6 or above. It can also run in any other compliant browser, including Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, etc. Other operating systems and browsers are also supported, such as Safari or Chrome browsers running on the Mac OS, or even Firefox running on a Linux platform. Finally, if you arrange for your own server to run the core system on, the requirements are Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (unless another database is used) with IIS6 enabled.
Smart Devices. As our software is thin-client and can run on any web browser, smartphones and similar devices with internet access can be used to interact with Tuppas software systems. Our wireless capabilities give you instant access from multiple databases and locations including Pocket PCs, PDAs, smart phones and more. We can also develop specialized smartphone apps for your company’s needs, such as interaction with GPS, scheduling and shipping applications, and other needs which may be specific to your system.
Connection to Automation. In many situations it’s necessary to include communication with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) along a manufacturing or testing line, or with software connected to those types of systems and workcenters. In doing so, measurements, inventory and scrap counts and other data can be used within the Tuppas software to create charts and graphs, downtime and scrap reporting, and other functions. We can communicate with PLCs from Allen-Bradley, Omron and other manufacturers. We can also communicate with related software packages such as Rockwell’s RSLinx and Invensys’ Wonderware.
Barcodes and RFID. Barcode scanners can be as simple as a USB wired scanner costing less than $100, or a complex scanner running the Windows Mobile operating system communicating with your wireless network. Barcodes can be preprinted or printed from within the system on-demand via standard laser or inkjet printers on packing lists, pallet tags, etc., or on stickers via thermal printers as necessary. RFID scanners can be placed throughout your facility, communicating with the Tuppas software system via your facility’s wired network as well. RFID tags on your inventory can then be read by the system without operator intervention.
