Project-based Maintenance Processing

Project-based maintenance processing can be used with all of these types of maintenance. In many cases, maintenance of a piece of equipment is a project all its own which would benefit from a certain level of overall management. A timeline for a such a project might include the ordering of parts and supplies, the scheduling of downtime and associated tag-outs, the removal of panels and equipment, lubrication of moving components, the changing of filters, wipers, brushes, etc., all the way through to the removal of tag-outs and the restarting of production. An electronic “planning board” features tags along a timeline, with the tags illustrating individual actions within the overall project. The board can also show multiple projects simultaneously, and can alert operators and managers both visually and via email when an action within a given project might be running late.

The purchase request portion of your system may be integrated with a purchasing system. When users submit a purchase request for any item under a specified dollar amount the request will automatically generate a purchase order. Likewise, if a purchase request is submitted for an item over the specified dollar amount it will be sent to the purchasing department or appropriate manager for approval.
