Request Info/Demo: Planning Board Tags - The Features that Improve Planning
Some of the main features planning board tags include: Multiple tags for one job Drag and drop tags Customized tags Color coding Additional job information Attach documents On-the-spot training Job tracking Capacity planning Now lets explain what some of these features will do for your planning process:
Drag and Drop: This function allows authorized users to move jobs from one work center, job, production line, etc. to another. Once the tag has been moved the schedule will recalculate and alert users to changes that may affect other jobs. We can design these alerts as pop up warnings so that when a job is moved, causing another job to run behind schedule or depletes the required raw materials, a warning will appear on the users screen. Color Coding: Tags can be colored as a visual alert to employees. In many instances a tag will highlight in red if the job will be running behind schedule. Other organizations will color code based upon priority of the job or client. These visual alerts of color coding will allow users to understand the importance of jobs quickly and take the appropriate action immediately. Additional Job Information: Users can quickly find important information on jobs by clicking on the tag. This will pull up information such as shipping information, measurements, raw material availability, routings, customer information, product or customer history, and misc notes. Attached Documents: We can attach important documents such as CAD drawings, work instructions, pictures/images, drawings or any other beneficial documents to the tag. Automatic e-mail alerts: A useful tool we can include is sending automatic e-mail alerts to users who are in charge of jobs. For example, a user can send an e-mail directly from the planning board alerting sales reps that the job is running ahead of schedule. The automatic e-mail alert can send out a warning to management if a job is running behind schedule or has started late. On-the-spot Training: Some manufactures find it very useful if they can allow employees to train on production or safety procedures directly on the shop floor. When an employee opens a job if they are not qualified to complete all of the tasks that are required we can include training materials and tests within the system. Job Tracking: The job tags will allow users to log in and out of a job directly off of the planning board. This feature is useful way of tracking how long employees work on jobs and how long jobs are at individual work stations. The log in and out will also allow for tracking the percentage of the job which is completed.
Planning boards have large amounts of functionality for manufactures to utilize and one of the largest pieces includes the job tags. These tags are beneficial for all environments, small and large, and will help to increase the productivity and communication between schedulers, sales and the production floor.
