Material Requirements Planning

The material requirements plan is usually built by comparing the current inventory levels to the anticipated manufacturing needs for raw material. Inventory safety levels are normally compared to new sales orders, work orders and production schedules which will require raw material. The Purchase Orders are also usually integrated into the MRP so that inbound raw material can be factored into the MRP calculation.

MRP creation of Purchase Orders

The MRP plan can be setup to generate purchase orders or purchase requisitions in the purchasing module automatically. This can be a real time saver. If you’re interested in this feature the system can be setup to generate some orders automatically and push them to vendors through email or through EDI. EDI is a technology for exchanging electronic documents.

Some of our MRP modules are configured to create internal replenishment orders and production schedules based on MRP needs. This feature can be a valuable feature if your business creates sub-assemblies, kitting for assemblies or batches. This is an electronic KanBan feature. Our scheduling solutions can be configured to optimize these replenishment orders automatically.
